Moo Yea Tang Soo Do (MYTSD) is a national association of martial arts schools that aims to serve its members while helping each studio maintain its independent spirit. We do not exist to govern the practices of individual schools, but rather provide a Tang Soo Do community that allows for continued learning, business success, and rank advancement.

OUR PRESIDENT
KWAN JANG NIM DAVID SGRO

Kwan Jang Nim David Sgro is an 8th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and the president of the Moo Yea Tang Soo Do Association. He taught US Special Forces pre/post 9/11 and trained and certified over 1,100 Combative Instructors for the 82nd ABN. He is also a certified Sung Ku Dan Tapedo Instructor (Filipino Martial Arts, Bacolod City, Philippines) and a 2 Stripe Blue Belt in Royce Gracie Brazilian Jui Jitsu. He currently teaches at his studio, Sgro Karate, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He also serves as a missionary to Guatemala and the Philippines and is the author of several martial arts and missionary books.

OUR FUNCTION:

  • Tournaments: MYTSD and its members host tournaments that are open for all members to participate in order to push students and school owners to better themselves.
  • Trainings: MYTSD provides numerous training opportunities for its members. Regional events are held as well as opportunities for students travel to other schools and share in the knowledge of Tang Soo Do.
  • Testings: MYTSD conductions Regional Dan Tests to either test students for advancement or to cross certify existing Dan members, for national recognition.
  • Community: MYTSD exists to support and encourage practitioners and aims to equip students and school owners to be the best they can be.
